The Product Activation and the installation mess really turned me off.
I've thought about reinstalling it, but since it doesn't just use a
'key', I have to figure out what to do and I really don't have time to
mess with it.

I'll probably sort it out when S2's released though, because with damage
it'll finally be worth racing online.

Whether it's worth the effort is subjective, I think it is.

IIRC you can just copy/paste the code. No need to type if you have it
on your computer.

It's also easier to use illegal copies of GPL, N2003 and RBR. The LFS
method seems to be rather airtight in this respect. And IMO that's a
good thing.
BTW, it's possible to copy your LFS directory to another partition (or
to a CD) when you make an OS reinstall, and then copy it back when
you're done. You may need a new key (not sure about this), but atleast
you won't lose your hard earned points.
