If you haven't done so already, get youself out and buy a Logitech
Momo wheel.

After weeks of disappointment from my Thrustmaster FF GT, I had
assumed that all FF wheels were just out for the 'novelty' factor.
But, having had problems configuring my FF GT with GP  and on hering
that the Logitech Momo wheel had been fully tested and endorsed by
Simergy & Infrogrammes, I went straight out and p/x'd my old wheel for
the Logitech.

Since installing it, it has worked like a dream.  Not just with GP4
but with NR2k2 and CMR 3.0 to boot.  The build quality is fantastic
and well worth the extra (double) price.

Colin McRae Rally 3.0?  Don't you mean CMR 2.0 or are you talking about
something different?

Since I'm in the market for a FF wheel, perhaps you
could tell me what the issues were.     I'd rather not
have to pay the $$$ for a Momo just to get something
that works properly.

I don't know about the Thrustmaster wheel but I'm not entirely happy
with my Momo. There's a fraction of play before the wheel kicks in and
while this is ok for rally type games it's no good for those that need
fine movements, such as an F1 game for example.
If I was to chose again I'd go for a non FF wheel such as the BRD Sim
F1.

Here in Australia it costs around the same price as a Logi Momo.

Make sure you check out the pedals well to see if you can live with them.
The pedals are the only bad thing about the Momo.

If you drive a tractor for a living, and have tiny feet, you'll probably be
ok :)

You talked about 'a fraction of play'.  Just wondering if you got rid of the
dead zone?  I'm sure you are aware of this already, but just in case you
aren't , you can use a program called "DXTweak".  I think its over on the
wingmanteam.com site.

Thanks, already tried that :)
The play is in the gears and it seems that nothing can be done about
it.
