F1 2002 - quite an improvement

I must say that I have been rather pleasantly surprised by the improvement
in F1 2002 over F1 2001. While nothing monumental, the framerate increases
put the sim into a totally different league and I am really having fun
hotlapping AND racing this one... The sensation of speed is much improved -
I would almost say better than CPR, although I haven't raced that in ages.

The suspension dynamics also seem rather different, in a good way - much
more believable (not sure exactly why). Rain handling is also rather
credible, for once in a sim (probably not spot on in reality, but quite
good, all the same).

It will really be great when GT mods, etc are released! Can't wait!!!

I haven't tried the training mode, yet. Does anyone know if the 2/3-seaters,
safety car, etc, are available to drive? Any cheats, hidden features?

Once they sort out the tracks completely (they ARE an improvment over F1
2001) and finally learn how to program controller calibration code :-( the
next generation will really become one of the sims to beat.

IMHO, of course!

Not to mention the "m" word, of course! (although with an Internet
connection from South Africa, this is unfortunately not that relevant for me
. . .)
