It's probably the same as with GPL: It's incredibly difficult to get the
physics and feeling right in the train and it costs considerable amounts of
processor memory...I don't think it's a very bad decision...Better not have
something and the rest being good, than having something which doesn't work
and spoils the game.

You took the words right out of my mouth Kenneth...
Rain must be so unbelievable complicated to simulate and we would need
unbelievable fast processors to calculate all the effects real time.
There is absolutely no simulation that simulates rain in a satisfying
way imho. And it will take a long time for the first simulation to do
so.
But I wouldn't be surprised if this first simulation came from Papy.
