I used DX 6.1 with the DTR demo and it worked fine. I don't want to go
through another Spirit of Speed auto DX7 install.

Can someone tell me if DTR installs DX7 without your permission, and does
DTR run well with DX6.1?

DTR will ask you if you want to install it! You can choose no!
It works fine with DX6.1 as that was what it was written with in
mind.
