www.skipbarber.com is what you're looking for - I believe it's Skip Barber
Racing School that was shown in that commercial. The only other choice
might be the Jim Russell school and I don't know if they have a web
presence yet or not.
I enjoyed a Barber "teaser" a year back as part of the Media Day
festivities held a week or so before the Lime Rock Park BGNN race. Dealt
with car control mostly, and the two biggest exercises were the autocross
and the wet skidpad. The autocross was a tight course laid out with cones
on a go-kart track driving Dodge Vipers (never got out of second gear
tho). I impressed the instructor doing that and attributed my performance
to NASCAR2.
Following that was the wet skidpad in Dodge Dakotas with bald back tires -
we were supposed to induce these things to skid, then catch the skids and
all that - I failed miserably despite my ice racing experience. Guess I
can't drive rear wheel drive.
But I digress. These things can be fun, true, and very valuable
experience-wise, but be forewarned that they're quite expensive also.
