just a few of my problems:

-sometimes when i race i start with a bunch of cars, as expected, and other
times i start the race and i'm in the pits and there's no place to 'line up'
with everyone else (who seem to be already racing)

-is there no way to fully customize a race? like day/night/weather/etc
settings? everything seems to be prepopulated and i can't figure out how to
customize things.

-is there an FAQ that explains more of the gameplay/rules/etc?

i'm new to racing games, BTW (as if you didn't know by my questions)

look at "bersicht" (german version). You can select weather, Training
sessions, race lenght...
