Actually... pitstops aren't modelled in the final version of GPL (who is out
in store by tomorrow). Back in the 1967 era, pitstops were quite rare, since
the cars had enough fuel to run a full GrandPrix and tires that would easily
stay for a whole weekend of racing.
Still, I didn't say pitstop were inexistant ;-) Papyrus just didn't found
important to model them, mostly because a pitstop was at 99.9% of the time
meaning you quitted the race or you were heading for a long multiple lap
repair that took you off any chances of podium/points.
In easy modes of GPL, you can still repair damage to your car with the
Shift-R setting while racing.. but there is consequences to that (cold tires
and full fuel). As for changes to the car, GPL has an incredibly well
detailled setup menu that is pretty more complex than any other Papyrus
titles (ex: Nascar2). You can race 19 AI cars in the final version, as it
was the maximum of drivers allowed I think per race at that time.
There is tons of new additions to the final version.. they are too long to
really say all of those in 1 post ;-) .
