How I made GP4 bareable

I know, I know, it's not the best sim out there, but it's a bit of fun in
between GPL, NR2002 and that new GeneRally  ;)

Basically, I got it running as best I could with the default installation on
my system (PIII 933, 512 ram, GF2 GTS 32meg DDR with 29.42 drivers, WinXP
Pro).

I then turned down the sampling rate from "best" to 'good' in the sound
properties, and then installed the GPX Patch along with the GP4 2002
unofficial update.

I've since seen about a 20-30% increase in FPS with barely any noticable
difference in detail (the cars look blocky occasionally, but it's bareable)
and I now race from the 'bumper' camera with the RPM / Speed overlay turned
on.

I can now race with the Processor Occupancy never going over 100% with all
cars, at any track at 30fps which looks pretty smooth, and no slow down at
the start of the race.

Like I said, it's no GPL or N2002, but it's a bit of fun now.  Glad I
persevered.
