Dear reader,

I have posted this question to Ten's NG to no avail and would really like to
know the answer, maybe you can help me. I am considering doing an upgrade in the
video card department and would like some suggestions. I am basing my decision
solely on what N3 will be optimized for. What card or combination should I buy ?

Sincerely,
Alex Yockey

There hasn't been an official word on what type of rasterizer Nascar Racing
3 will have, but be sure that you can't be wrong with a Voodoo-type card,
because it can do OpenGL, Glide and D3d.  If the word is OpenGL, a  TNT-type
card will be really the best choice, but if it supports like GPL
Rendition/Glide, a Voodoo-chipset will be the best.  But I seriously doubt
it will be the second choice. I will say (from the look of the screenshots)
it's openGL or D3d (but for philosophical reasons I don't think it will be
D3d).

N3 won't be out unitl October, so the optimal video card probably doesn't
exist yet.  You should probably wait for the Voodoo3 if you want a 2D/3D
solution.

Maybe no-one has answered you because N3 isn't out yet and nobody knows
exactly what it will be optimized for.  Why don't you wait until the game
comes out and then upgrade?

Isn't this kind of like saying "I want to get my wife's name tattooed on my
arm, but I'm not married yet.  Can you tell me what name to have tattooed on
my arm?"
