Does anyone know if it is possible to uninstall direct X and go back to a
previous version?

Thanks

There *is* a DXUninstaller.  I (and my friends) have used it with mixed
results.  Not recommended.  OTOH, it'll be a long wait for DX9.

I have used the DXUninstaller with great success during the beta phase of DX8.1.
However it only works on Win98 & WinMe as far as I know. And you have to follow
the instructions very carefully.

Jens,

I tried it with Win 98 during the disasterous DX8.1_beta fiasco.  It didn't
work for me...which isn't saying much (I'm a komplet komputa klutz), but it
didn't work for some meticulous Windoze experts, either.

Sorry to hear that. Then you had to suffer through the numerous: "Warning! This
software has expired. It is pushing up daisies. It is no more. It is an ex-DX."

Perhaps we used different programs? I used one called dxun13.exe.
