Does any one know the difference between the regular tracks and the one
that say "new" next to it?  ((As in Michigan and Michingan New.))

I believe the ones marked new have been specifically enhanced with Rendition
support.  (ie: smoother graphics, better  and frame rate ) if your running
the Rendition executable of the game.  The rest are the stock tracks that
shipped with all prior versions of icr2 / cart and have not been touched for
Rendition graphics.

No, the ones with new after it are the tracks that were rerendered in more
colours than the original. If you have a rendition card, you'll get acceleration
(graphics accel. that is!) on all tracks, but the ones with "new" will look
better and play almost as well (more colours take more time to draw), racing the
new tracks (other people on the net has also made more tracks with more colours)
on the rendition cards is a marvellous sight and feel, it's SO smooth...

Hmmm quiproquo here...

Asgeir, Gary is telling the same thing as you  ;-P  .  The other tracks
aren't "updated" with better graphics, they just use 3d acceleration via
Redline.

I believe that's what he was saying.

There isn't any Redline support for ICR2/CART-3D, instead using what
was then called SPDY3D [Speedy3D] drivers.

Cheers!
