An Open Letter To Gerhard Lingenberg

Hope you read this group.

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S ! ! !

Just got a copy of your Nascar-ICR2 conversion program. VERY impressed
with how easily it works, and how slickly converted everything is when
you then run ICR2.

Only converted the Glen so far - but restored my faith in at least some
of my ability to drive.....confirms what I thought, that Nascars are
real pigs to handle. Not fast yet - but running 1.09 laps after about 6
laps, and few offs. Wish I could do that in a Nascar!  B-)

WELL DONE!!! Are we going to be able to try and get a Nascar round
Laguna???

This is JUST the sort of thing I've thought ought to be possible -
effectively choose your front end, choose your tracks.....choose your
vehicle types is what's next. I remember Rick Genter denying it was
possible......tee hee!!!!

TAKE NOTE _PLEASE_ Papyrus.....make your games modular like this, and in
no time at all (relatively B-) ! ) you'll have a full house of 500GP &
250GP bikes, Superbike, F1, F3, BTCC, German Touring Cars......

Cheers!

Hi Toby,

I'm not sure if Gerhard reads this but he is a regular on the Sports
Simulations forum on CompuServe (where this program was first posted) so
I'll pass your message onto him. BTW, I've done a 57.4xx around the
Glen.....just to give you a target.....!!

At present Gerhard is working on converting the ICR2 tracks to NASCAR
and also to allow both on the same track simultaneously! Probably the
best "project" he has is to convert the original Indianapolis expansion
disk from ICR1 to work with ICR2! Now that would be GREAT if he can
write a conversion for that.

I actually asked Rick about this and he replied that Papyrus were known
for serious simulations and wouldn't do a conversion like that as
Indycars don't run at Bristol (for example) and so it wouldn't be
realistic. Personally I don't care, I'll run an Indycar around a Safeway
parking lot if it allows me another circuit to challenge and to learn!

Yes, imagine being able to exchange tracks between GP2 and ICR2? An F1
car around Mid-Ohio would be great, as would the turbo of an Indycar
around Monza or Spa. Too much fun!

I'll pass your thanks on to Gerhard.

Cheers!
John

WILD!!! Love the idea.....it'd be like one of those open test days I
medic occasionally......was at Oulton Park last year with a session when
there were factory+privateer (near production spec) superbikes running
when a couple of GP 500's went out to play with them.....fabulous!!!

I quite agree.....but some of the shoppers might be a bit upset!!! B-)

JW> I'll pass your thanks on to Gerhard.

Thanks for that!

Cheers!

A 57.4xxx ? I don't know these amatuers! ;-) Try a 54.921

Hurray! Can you pass my e-mail address to him? I'll be willing to act
as a beat tester and put it on The Pits when it's finished.

Hmm....Know how do you set a car up for those level ramps....

Pass mine as well.

Too right! Wanted to say this myself after converting a few tracks at
the weekend, but couldn't say it any better than this.

The added touch of the Nas2ICR slogan instead of the track picture are
very professional looking.

Now if I could just figure out why I lose my rear end on T2/T3 at the
Glen!

Stuart.
