A friend can't get N4 to run. Any ideas?

Hi,

It will install, but when he clicks on the run button it freezes.  He
installed it on a Pentium II 400mhz Win98 DX8.0a Creative Annihilator
Pro 32 Meg card 64MB Ram (I think).  He has tried both D3D and OpenGL.

Any ideas?

He will eventually run it on a 1.2 Athlon system, but is awaiting Asus
to return his broken motherboard.

FYI - The culprit was Direct X 8.  He uninstalled it and put 7a back
and he is in business.  Makes me wonder if it is the cause of my
crashes and lockups!

  I'm glad he found the problem...but this doesn't discount the
fact that tons and tons of users have dx8 and are
running trouble free...
