Chip Ganassi attends CART race amid NASCAR title fight
John Pancoast questioned why Chip Ganassi attended his CART team's race in Denver while his NASCAR driver was in a title fight. Others explained that Ganassi was sole owner of the CART team but only co-owner of the NASCAR operation, that Coors was a major sponsor near Denver, and that his CART cars finished 1-2-7. It ended in jokes.

Automated summary.
Chip has his priorities correct.

Hmm, he did the right decision, considering he's a business man, and that
currently his priorities are towards his CART ownership ;)

Keep in mind that he co-owns the NASCAR team, while he is the sole owner of the
CART team.

Coors Brewing is one of his company's two big sponsors. Denver is
practically next door to Golden Colorado where the Beer is brewed. If you
are trying to please a big sponsor, do you ignore them in there own
backyard?? ?? ??

If I owned a Porsche and a Ferrari, none of you guys
can tell me which one to drive today...cos they are both
mine.
Make sense? I am glad you have been able to avoid Chip's
dilemna by not running any succesful motorsports teams.

Of all the international sanctioning bodies, CART currently has the
most competent management by far. It's going to take more than 1 year
to turn the series around, but Pook is someone who I strongly believe
can and will do it.
It probably still puts a smile on Pook's face to know that he
singlehandedly drove F1 out of its most popular American venue when
Bernie tried to play hardball.

Being 50+ points behind is hardly a fierce CART championship fight :)

Not impossible, but highly unlikely to get the title. Part-owner
explanation made the most sense imo.
