I haven't replaced a pot yet, but I did strip my Momo down. The pot's
pretty easy to get to. The hardest thing would be finding a suitable
replacement I'd guess.

Replacing a worn potentiometer in the Logitech MOMO wheel
Joachim Trensz asked whether anyone had replaced the steering pot in a Logitech MOMO wheel. Gerry Aitken said the unit was easy to strip but the special pot would be hard to source, and it emerged that Logitech did not sell spare parts. The thread turned into a bickering exchange between Larry and Gerry Aitken over manufacturer obligations to supply parts, with a note that the pot maker in Asia required large minimum orders.

Small flap plastic square (15mm). I've seen this type in my Sidewinder
Dual Strike.
Gerry
has anyone done it?
If so, which pot did they use and was it straightforward or difficult?
Thanks in advance
I.e. it's a special type of pot?

They don't stock spare parts.
I thought there was a federal law that required manufacturers/sellers of
goods in the US to provide replacement parts for 7 years past the EOL of the
device.
I thought this was industry-wide.

what, their factory somewhere in the far east, that until recently was
making the momo but is now making 'My Little Pony Jimcana' sets?
Tell you what, Dave, you phone 'em, make a noise, and show us the proof.

They have to have them or they could't build the things.
It's just plain old poor customer service.

Sorry, it's been delegated to the 'read' file.
That doesn't change anything. If new can be built, there ARE parts.

I don't think new ones are built anymore. And wasn't the MOMO a
"limited edition" to begin with? Wasn't very limited obviously, as
they are still sold all over the world ;)

It's out of production AFAIK, there's a newer cheaper model, but i don't
know if the pots are the same. Anyway, we've been throw all this with
the old LWFF, logi just won't help with replacement pots.
Not really a problem, as they don't make the pots themselves, all we
need to do is find the company that do.
Gerry
Is it really out of production???
I searched the web for info, but
I found nothing...
I was seriously considering purchasing a Momo
wheel (and a set of Speed7s).
But, not if they're discontinued I'll look elsewhere.
Plus, it looks bad that people are having trouble getting parts.
I guess that I could use the Speed7s with my ForceRS.
But Act-Labs is going down quick as well.......

1. Release a wheel that is almost perfect, and leave the customers waiting
for the next one which will BE perfect.
2. Release the next version, which is cheap, plasticy piece of cacca that
wears out in 3 months and leaves
thier customers scratching their heads.
3. Repeat.

awhile ago MikeT found the manufacturer. Somewhere in Asia and minimum order
1000 pcs or so. Bloody cheap though (per piece price only ;-)
