Hi Guys,
I have bought a 2nd hand Carmageddon2 - just the CD, no manual.
I've worked a lot of it out, & am having fun.
I can kill pedestrians & animals & stuff, I can kill opposition &
finish the level, I've even scored enough to buy a couple of cars.
But I don't know what I must achieve to progress to new levels.
Must I complete all three tracks at group 1?
Do I stay in group 1 until I have destroyed all possible opposition?
Am I supposed to collect All the bonus boxes scattered about?
A web link to a "walkthrough" or some general objectives here would be
greatly appreciated.
Thanks Guys
Good old carmageddon 2 is quite a laugh, reasonable physics and a fairly
decent damage model... of course yes the ideas to suceed in this game dont
make it a sim of anything anyone would want simulated!! But fun and running
good on the new age "fast" specs.
as to the question, there are 3 "races" in each group, then some form of
mission... the first one i believe is a checkpoint race against the clock.
once you have finished each race (by either doing the laps - or what i have
always done: gaining time through killing and wasting all the opps) you are
forced to do the mission.
be aware they get harder and harder, as do the group races with tougher
opponents and less pedestrians around. I am personally up to group 10 (i
think) and need to go back through the auto saves and use some credits to
buy a heavier vehicle. i have been basically using the red eagle and just
getting the solid granite powerup (makes hits 10x more powerful in effect)
to waste the tougher opponents.. when you get to level 10 these are scarce
and im having trouble even causing more than a few percent of damage to the
fatter opponents.
tip: i searched google for carmageddon 2 mission help/hints/walk throughs
and came up with a site on an Aus'lian www server that is worth finding if
you need a hint.

I've been playing only in the "quarry", and now you've told me I'll
head off to the two city tracks.
I'll see how far I can get before I go to google for more help.
Greatly appreciated,
Tina

i have however downloaded the C3 - Death Race 2000 game, but have yet to
find time to try it - it was supposed to be a complete 3d world overhaul
with better performance than C2 on the same hardware. i've been unable to
track down a copy in any shops or fairs, hence the download... i'll let you
know if it's worth finding and i expect it would work in XP.
