I have a set-up that turns in and drives through 3 and 4 at California
beautifully.
It pushes horribly going into 1.
What should I adjust to get rid of some or all of the push into 1 that won't
wreck my great 3 and 4 balance?
Thanks!

Are you using realistic weather ? If so, you may have some wind affecting
you in T1.

Perhaps you are over driving turn 1, or a tail wind on the fs makes your
turn 1 entry speed to fast?

All of those things may be true, but it doesn't change the fact that the car
turns well into 3 and like a dog into 1. Obviously the corners are quite
different. I was asking for some expert advice regarding specific set-up
tips that could compensate. My question assumes you know the differences
between the two corners well and the basics of how to adjust the car.
Whether one overdrives or underdrives the car, the response in the two turns
is dramatically different.
I always use realistic weather, so it would be odd if it was wind related,
unless the weather isn't random after all.
I have never had a set-up act so well in one corner and then be so bad in
the other...hopefully someone will have some useful advice!

I haven't dug into the paticulars of the Papyrus weather, but around
these parts, I can tell where the wind is gonna blow from, cuz 90% it is a
Pacific Breeze that has blown up the Columbia River Gorge Gap...(heaven for
a Windsurfer) Perhaps California has a prevailing breeze as well?

I have heard real world drivers having exactly the same problems.
quotes like ...The car was great in 1 & 2 but junk in 3 & 4.
As far as advice...about all I could do was hand you a setup and
say...change everything 180 degrees and it will work fine. :)

I thought realistic weather took into account prevailing wind direction
for the track. In that case, more often than not, the wind will be in
the same general direction and the wind force will vary. Southern
California is very much a prevailing wind location.
There are basically two wind directions in SoCal. On shore (prevailing)
and off shore ("Santa Ana" winds). Given this, the exact prevailing wind
direction depends on the geographic features of the specific area
(mountains and such).

Because it can push or hold back your car depending upon what it's doing.
Can completely require a change to corner entry, etc.

you missed the point of his question I think John. Marc knows the
weather can effect(affect?) a car's handling, but he's asking: With
realistic weather, that is supposedly different each session, why does the
same ill handling characteristic keep surfacing?

Well, it sounds very wind related to me, but here's some tips anyway. Not
saying they're the only ones or best, but things I'd try. No particular
order.
-increase the RF compression.
-increase the LR rebound.
-decrease the RF tire pressure.
-soften the RF spring.
-stiffen the RR spring.
-change your line :)
Give those a shot. They're fine adjustments, as opposed to coarse.

Not sure, but I think the wind comes from one direction there, just
different intensities............but again, not sure. Anyone else know
for sure about the wind there ?

should be an obvious question. Did you turn off realistic weather,
set wind to 0 mph, and if so, did the problem go away?
If not, I suspect you are just overdriving the entry or getting too
high and out of the groove.
