Well I might have screwed up, and was hoping for some help. I bought Nascar 2002 and came across a patch for no CD, downloaded and installed. I just went to sierra racing and tried to join-logon and it tells me my cd key is invalid. Is this because of my no cd patch or something else. Anyone run into this...........

You can't run online with the NO CD patch, at least not on Sierra, just use the regular shortcut with the CD in to play online and use the NO CD to play offline Beers and cheers (uncle) Goy "The Pits" http://www.theuspits.com/ "A man is only as old as the woman he feels" --Groucho Marx--

Well created a shortcut to the cd, went to sierra and still invalid cd key being shown. I guess further help is required. "Goy Larsen" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... >

Everyone runs into this. You can't run online with a No-CD patch installed. Until Nascar Racing 2002, my way around this was to use DTools to create a RAW ISO image of the CD and save it on my server. Then, I would use a very cool utility called Daemon Tools to mount the ISO image in a Virtual CD-ROM drive. This allowed me to protect my original CD, and not have to insert it every time. Since the proper CD is 'inserted', and the standard executable is run, there is no problem running online. However, since the release of Nascar Racing 2002, I have been unable to get it working properly. It will start to work correctly, but the system will eventually lock up every time. Anyone else got NR2002 to work correctly and reliably with Daemon Tools ? -Larry "Douglas" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:9vOH8.138710$[email hidden]... > Well I might have screwed up, and was hoping for some help. I have absolutely no problems at all with it.. that's kinda weird that you would.. did it not work properly from the start or did it just start randomly? The only thing I did differently was that I used CloneCD to make the image.. I got a program called CDSpace, no it wasnt free, but it works like a champ... it built the iso and mounts it (will even take the same letter of your regualr CD rom drive while the util is running, least it did by default on mine...) 2002 and all runs fine, raced all today... wasnt cheap tho, 35$ but I already lost one CD due to it being in the drive... Long story. so Im hoping it will be worth it and all Here's the link if interested, then click on Shareware version of CD space 4.1... http://en.cdspace.com/e_htm/download/download.asp "Mike" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > I have absolutely no problems at all with it.. that's kinda weird that you > would.. did it not work properly from the start or did it just start > randomly? > > The only thing I did differently was that I used CloneCD to make theimage..

Working for me, though I have had some lockup problems. I am almost certain that my lockups were related to video card. Today I raced online for hours w no lockups using Daemon tools. On the other hand, I had quite a few l-ups yesterday. <shrug> "Larry" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:YTRH8.73597$[email hidden]... > Everyone runs into this. > > You can't run online with a No-CD patch installed. > > Until Nascar Racing 2002, my way around this was to use DTools to create a > RAW ISO image of the CD and save it on my server. Mike, Thanks for the info. It is possible that DDump isn't handling the ISO correctly. I will try to create a new ISO with CloneCD, and see if it works. Thanks! -Larry "Mike" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > I have absolutely no problems at all with it.. that's kinda weird that you > would.. did it not work properly from the start or did it just start > randomly? > > The only thing I did differently was that I used CloneCD to make theimage..

Thanks for the info! The cool thing about DaemonTools is that it emulates the necessary copy-protection software necessary to get protected games to work as an ISO. Does CDSpace do the same ? -Larry "Sting32" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:I7TH8.2573$[email hidden]... > I got a program called CDSpace, no it wasnt free, but it works like a > champ... it built the iso and mounts it (will even take the same letterof > your regualr CD rom drive while the util is running, least it did bydefault > on mine...) 2002 and all runs fine, raced all today... wasnt cheap tho, > 35$ but I already lost one CD due to it being in the drive... Ok, we now know it works. I just need to figure out why mine didnt :) You know, I was just thinking. This is about the time I was experimenting with the new (at the time, 5W) BIOS for my ABIT KG7 main board. This, and all BIOS's after it (oddly) have a solid reputation for causing system hard-lockups, especially in 3D gaming. It's entirely possible that I confused that symptom with DaemonTools and my ISO. I solved my KG7 problem by going back to the 5e BIOS, which is absolutely rock solid. There have been some intricate BIOS CPU setting alterations posted to correct the lockups in post-5e BIOS's for the KG7, but 5e works great, and I'll just wait for ABIT to finally get around to fixing this well known, long-standing bug in their BIOS. Thanks :) -Larry "jon" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:5PTH8.20298$[email hidden]... > Working for me, though I have had some lockup problems.
