I like the top of screen info you see when using some of the default views but you don't see them when you select the cockpit view. Can you adjust the config to get the hud box visible in cockpit views too. I like info like laps left on fuel tank that the hud box shows. It would be good when creating custom views too. Cheers Al

If you're in the cockpit view then it gives you all that information on the LCD display. Heckler

Or maybe he's like me and can't read the "itsy bitsy teeny weeny" LCD. I have the same request. Tore "rik zeppelin" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:9knk8.4522$[email hidden]...

I'm talking the "Cockpit View"! I know the HUD works in the "TV Cockpit View". The LCD is too small for me to read so there is no advantage using the steering wheel display over the HUD as far as I'm concerned. Maybe I need to run at 640x480? 1024 X 768 does it for me, though I don't use the cockpit view OR the hud! I have customized the tv view by lowering the height about 1/3. Open the default.cfg in your save dir. Then change this line under TVcockpit: PositionOffset=(-0.025760, 0.281553, 0.400790) to PositionOffset=(-0.025760, 0.181553, 0.400790) this will lower your view in the tvcockpit mode and then just turn on the hud by hitting "2".
Thats exactly what I did to the number! It's a pretty damn good view, and the hud works too. "Jim Morrison" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:RUvk8.18503$[email hidden]...

Actually if you decide to use the HUD in cockpit view then it is possible by selecting the TV Cockpit but altering the default.cfg so that the TV Cockpit: PositionOffset=(0.000000, -0.020000, -0.010000)....which is the same as the Cockpit setting. :-) Thanks guys "rik zeppelin" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:gswk8.18539$[email hidden]...

Except the mirrors are not correct for this view! "Tore Hanson" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:nWyk8.13393$[email hidden]... > Actually if you decide to use the HUD in cockpit view then it is possibleby

Do you know what file controls the mirrors? is there any information on detailed adjustments to the config files - eg config.ini, terrain.ini and player file. This sim must be the most configurable ever! Great sim - can't wait for F1 2002. Al rik zeppelin wrote in message ...

No I don't. I'm just learning this stuff myself. If I come up with anything, I'll let you know. Tore "rik zeppelin" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:ccIk8.15248$[email hidden]...

All I can tell is that when "TV Cockpit" is selected a matching set on useless mirrors is also selected from within the game. In the default.cfg I replaced the TV Cockpit view's complete set of parameters with the standard cockpit view parameters and I got the mirrors from the TV Cockpit view. I wanted to practice enough to get a few laps in without going off the track. I finally namaged a 1:48. Malaysia is a tricky circuit, especially the first series of esses and the series of turns that lead onto the long straight before the hairpin. I can really appreciate real F1 now that I have a better understanding of this track. "Tore Hanson" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:L6Qk8.13518$[email hidden]... > No I don't.
