I tried one of the newer sets of drivers from Nvidia (I'm running GeForce 2 Ultra 64mb) and didn't care for them and want to go back to the older ones I was using. The Nvidia drivers are in a self installation file and I don't know if they are installing and replacing ALL of the other drivers/files or if they are still on my system. Can someone tell me the best way to A. Install new drivers correctly and B. how to make sure I get all of the old ones (drivers/files) off my system that I'm no longer using. Thanks in advance.
This really depends on what OS you are using. If it is Windows 9x you should download the Detonator Destroyer utility from http://guru3d.com/detonator-destroyer/ If you are using XP, uninstall the old drivers and install the new ones. It's *usually* possible to just install one set of Detonators over another without all the usual fol-de-rol: uninstalling old drivers, reverting to 640x480 VGA, installing new drivers, etc. Indeed, one of nVidia's most tempting features is that almost any Detonators will work with almost any TNT or GeForce card, backwards or forwards, from the past several years. OTOH, the biggest crash in my 20-year-history of computing came from simply updating from one WHQL driver set to the next, so if you're running XP or something like GoBack, I'd choose a restore point judiciously. <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

there's this utility called NVcleaner, but right now I don't remember where I found it... Which Detonator version were you using previously? I prefer 6.50... -- __________ ____---____ Marco Antonio Checa Funcke \_________D /-/---_----' Santiago de Surco, Lima, Peru _H__/_/ http://machf.tripod.com '-_____|( http://www.GeoCities.com/Hollywood/2645 remove the "no_me_j." and "sons.of." parts before replying

Yer rite--there's a fatal tendency in computerdom to think the latest is the greatest. Sometimes it ain't so. For older games, I still use the 7.52s. Like I said the latest greatest doesnt work for me I had to go back.... and when I mean it didnt work.. it works but you need to benchmark each set of the versions and see what they do..... I can almost garranty that you will find huge perfomance improvements using newer driver versions.... "Steve Smith" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:olrg8.31103$[email hidden]...
