Anybody have one? Any comments appreciated.
Seems like $500 for something I have to assemble is pretty hefty. Of course,
that's with the seat (I would trust sitting on WOOD would suck after about
31 milliseconds) and their subwoofer plinth.
Every man should have a plinth, I figure.
Whatever the hell a plinth is.
Just like your thoughts and opinions.
I looked at the pictures of it, and decided I could make my own, using
their pictures as reference.. Here's what I came up with.. And it only
cost about 35 bucks for materials.. And yes, sitting on the wood seat
gets old after an hour or so =) I use an inflatable seat cushion I got
at a cup race, that works like a charm!!

about what the plans cost.
I have been very pleased with the end result, and informed the RaceBase
folks of this fact, and they have posted pictures of my sim on their site. I
can assure you, however, I received NOTHING for this.
Here are more shots of the assembly and final results:

I would recommend the RaceBase product to anybody looking for a fold-able
yet sturdy race seat. I use it with both my PS2 and PC.

who ripped off their design is the RaceBase is adjustable in several
dimensions, which makes it easy for my son and I to both use it.

Microsim Racebase recently founded their own simracing team: Team
Racebase. This team will participate in the professional Formula
Simracing league (http://www.formula-simracing.org/) and also on Rally
Trophy Relay (http://rt.relaygames.com/) In the future the plan is to
expand to other simracing leagues in different classes as well.
The official team website will open tomorrow at
http://www.teamracebase.com/ On the website will come an online shop
where you can order the Microsim Racebase but also team merchandise in
the near future. I'm one of the Team Managers of this team and will
also get a brand new Microsim Racebase, I don't have it yet so I can't
say anything about it yet... it's their latest model the MkIII that
will be released this month (not on their website yet) so I'm very
excited about it to try out. When it's here I can post pictures and
reports about it online.

Dimitry Gerards

Nice work, dude! And don't listen to any of that BS about "ripping off
their design" -- anything you make for your OWN use is FAIR use. I
actually like your design better than the Racebase. From checking out
your page, I have to say your woodworking skills are pretty remarkable
-- who needs to weld?
BTW, what's the cat's name?

A real race car seat is probably harder than wood ;)
but of course you have the fire suit and adrenaline to
comfort you

III is at: http://www.netrexgp.nl/Mk3_prerelease.jpg
Steering wheel and pedals are excluded of course... and the final
model might be a little different from the picture.
it should be released soon, so you might want to wait for the new
model..
