Hi! If you had to choose between an Andretti and a Thrustmaster Nascar Pro Digital 1/2, which wheel would you prefer? All three have fine pedals, are connected via USB, don't support force feedback and are priced below $80. The Thrustmaster ones have split axis for the pedals, but I'm not sure if the Andretti wheel has other advantages I haven't discovered yet. Any opinions? PH
The Andretti Wheel is GREAT! Here is the review I did when it first came out. http://www.sinjinsolves.com/reviews/pch/andretti/andretti.htm I highly recommend it. Conversely - the NASCAR Pro Digital was junk - at least the one I reviewed. Here is that review: http://www.sinjinsolves.com/reviews/pch/nascar2/nascar2pro.htm Good luck. Have both the Andretti and the Pro digital 2 and hands down the Pro digital 2. The pedals on the Andretti are pretty much pure crap but the wheel is ok. The PD2 has ok peadals and is a decent wheel also. Neither are great but you definitely can't beat the price of either. Driver support is nearly non-existent from both also, although the Thrustmapper s/w worked ok till XP came about. I ended up getting the Act labs pro pedals to go along with the PD2 wheel and havent looked back since. Mitch "Peter Hartlich" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

I have the Andretti wheel, and it has a great wheel. The pedals are the worst I've seen :( I also had a TM Nascar Pro Racing wheel (very similar to the digital I think) and the pedals were prettty good. MUCH better than the Andretti wheel. Built quality wasn't too bad either. If I had to choose, I'd take the Andrettti wheel, with the PD2 pedals. Currently, I have the Andretti wheels using modifed pedals. The wheel runs through the USB nps, and the pedals thorugh the game port as a seperate controller. Works ok for GPL and N4 etc.. But not for SCGT. F1 2001 works good too in split axis. Dont know which Pro Digital you had, but the PD1 i bought when they first came out is the one im still using (gonna retire it in a couple weeks for an ActLabs package). I bought the PD2 when it came out, but got rid of it quickly due to the fact that they changed the solid wheel to a 2 piece hollow wheel, which summed up the whole cheap feeling package. So, i replaced the bungee in my PD1 and cleaned out the pot in the wheel while i had the bottom off (didnt really need cleaning), and would buy another PD1 if i had to go cheap again. Maybe mine was the exception, and not the rule, but my PD1 even survived bouts with kids and the such. I pray my future RS setup will last as long :)
