Rally Trophy hard to find in Canadian stores

ymenard could not find Rally Trophy anywhere in Montreal, and others reported shifting release dates from Electronics Boutique ranging from December to February. Some ordered from UK retailers instead. The thread then turned into Quebec-versus-English Canada ribbing over language laws and whether EB had stores in Quebec, which it did.

Anybody found a store that sells it? I've come empty handed at about every PC shop around Montral. The clerk in the local EB here in Kingston looked it up and said Dec 5th. I read on EB today that Rally Trophy may not be available in the US until Jan 2002 (not sure about Canada). Placed my order overseas at http://www.gameplay.co.uk/ for 26.99. Wonder how long it will take for them to ship it over here... - David Cook "David Erb" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:3LXM7.6255$[email hidden]...

That same clerk told my wife Nov 16th, then after that passed Dec 5th. Yyes , sometimes the information you get seems a little "flexible" :) . The slippage you noted is possibly due to some optimistic buyers predictions as to when RT was going gold; that date gets into the system first and then the later date is stuck in when reality sets in and when EB central thinks to update the release page. They'll probably try to make the Dec 5 date though since you'd miss the Christmas window if you left it any later. Usually they get their new release from Toronto warehouse on the day of the release but don't get it unpacked for a day. Freezing rain even. Was downtown at lunch anyway so went by but Digital Gamer was closed. Had to go to west end so checked in with EB again, got a different clerk and when he looked it up the answer came as Feb.2 :( So basically have no idea now when the Canadian release is. Oh well ,at least IL-2 was available. David "Art McEwen" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:9u5gn3$rml$[email hidden]...

They must have a good reason for not wanting to open a store there.
There are EB in Quebec they are called Boutique EB. To be exact, 5 stores exist Here's a link for the EB stores in Quebec http://www.vicinity.com/eboutique/cangeoprx.hm?AD4=CAN&country=CAN&FC=EB&FC=EBC&FC=EBX&FC=GW&CITY=montreal&STATE=QUEBEC+PROVINCE&ZIP=&PHONE=&DBR=100 On Thu, 29 Nov 2001 18:32:37 -0500, "STP" <[email hidden]> wrote:
