I am just setting up a new machine as follows:
MoBo: Abit KG7-Raid
CPU: Athlon 1.4
Memory: 512 Crucial DDr
Graphics: Asus V8200 Geforce 3
Audio: Creative SB Live! Player
NIC: 3com OfficeConnect
Modem: USR 56K external on Com 1.
OS: ME
Wheel: MSFF (USB)
Sims: GPL, N4, GP3, SCGT, Rally Trophy
I have a few questions which hopefully someone won't mind answering.
1. As I understand it I should try to make sure that my video card doesn't
share a IRQ with anything else and therefore you shouldn't put anything into
PCI Slot 1. I've done this but ME is reporting that both the video and audio
cards are sharing IRQ 10. I've moved the audio card to other slots but it
stills uses IRQ 10. Anyhing I'm doing wrong?
2. At the moment I'm using the drivers that came with the hardware. Should I
be using different ones and if so which ones?
3. I remember sometime ago posts giving optimum modem settings for on-line
racing. Has anyone got the details or a link?
4. I've been racing GPL regular and have kept up to date with patches
updates etc for that but not for the other sims. Which patches, updates etc
should I be installing for N4 GP3 and SCGT?
Thanks in advance for any help given.
Cheers Lee
