Is anyone running F1 2001 on a Kyro II yet? Since I can't get GP3 to run at better than about 12 fps since installing this card ( Athlon 1Ghz, 256 ram), I'm looking for another current F1 sim that will let me do a few laps of each circuit before the real race is held. Am I likely to get reasonable framerate with halfway decent graphics with this sim? TIA... Phillip....
Runs fantastic in 16bit... 32 bit causes problems. But at 16 bit, with everything at FULL, at the back of the grid with mirrors on, the framerate is liquid (1024x768). 800x600, 4xfsaa also runs pretty smooth as well. I am very very happy with the framerate, and the more I paly, the better the game is as well...... I am runing a T-bird @1600 in W2K. But FYI F1 2000CS sucked big with mirrors on my system. Right here http://www.pvrdev.com/driver/index.htm. They do have issue with some other games though, Red Faction for instance.
Hey, thanks for posting the bit about the driver version. I switched back to the 7.11x drivers because the 8.162a's didn't work out-of-the-box for Operation Flashpoint (night maps). Someone I met online racing F1-2001 said his OPF worked (with tweaking) and that F1-2001 worked in 16bit. Guess it's time to move up to the newer drivers and fiddle with the driver options.
