When F1cs2k came out...they quickly made a little utility that enabled
easier mulitplayer. It was called f1rst. Well I've been away from cs for a
while...got a new version of F1rst and can't even get it to logon. I have a
place to enter name and password, but the only public server shown is the
onlineracing.net server. I can't join that because it is running a race.
Therefore the program exits.
How do I start f1rst and just get into the chat area? This is goofy now.

I didn't have any problem last night to log on to public server. The server
might have had a temporary problem just when you tried. I'd say try again.
