Hi RASers,
I used to hang out here in RAS, but have been busy with other things
lately. One thing I did this last weekend was to go to the Porsche
Rennsport Reunion at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut. I took a bunch of
pictures of all the vehicles and thought someof the folks in here might like
to check them out:

Cool pictures, Al Holberts 962 really brought back memories. Is that an
annual event? I have to check this out in person, are they going to
different tracks?
Daxe,
Some nice shots there. In some you seem to have been somewhat distracted
from the cars, though :) You wouldn't happen to prefer blondes, would you?
I was there on Sunday, looks like a bit later than you (got there around
noon). That Gulf 917K seems to have been gone by the time I got there, as
was the "Hippie" car and the Prototype. I did take a whole roll of film of
the Martini 917 while it was waiting to be loaded onto the transporter,
though, including a pretty good shot of the cockpit - they had the driver's
door open to push the car around. I'll be scanning my pictures and posting
them sometime this weekend.

I understand they have this thing once a year at different racetracks.
Lime rock has some pretty cool stuff. They just had a Ferrari gand prix or
something a couple months ago. I missed that one. I go every year for the
vintage racing on Labor day weekend (1st weekend of Sept). I was out at
this one because my best friend Andy (also appearing in several pictures)
was out form Colorado. he has a 911 of his very own, but wanted to bask in
glow of the the 917s.

Heh...they just seem to be more eye catching in the bright sunshine.
Youshould have seen the ones that got away!

We got there right around noon, as well. We stayed until almost everything
was loaded up, swilling beer in the paddock and leering at the girls walking
around.

Nikon Coolpix 990, full res (2048x1538 or whatever it is) and "normal"
compression. I fiddled here and there with the white balance and shutter
speed just for laughs.
I made up a little macro in photoshop to reduce the size, tweak the color
and sharpen them up a tad, then batched the suckers. Used ACDSee for the
thumbnail pages.

They were under the "Amalfi Racing" tent. If you check their site:
http://www.amalfiracing.com/
they apparently sell the things. No word on the lap times though..
> and anymore pics on the Blonde & gals? :)~
there were a couple real honeys there, for sure. There was one cupcake
there on Saturday in a string bikini top and cutoff shorts that had guys
walking into stuff and falling over their own feet.
race cars and pretty girls seem to go hand in hand and that's a GOOD thing.

Im glad someone down this thread answered this question because I have (had)
no idea! I thought it was unusual, so I took some pix of it.

Great pics, Daxe! Thanks for sharing! My own photos are available here:

daxe,
I thought it was digital and my guess would have been the
"Nikon Coolpix 990" as it is a nice popular camera! Now
where are the pics of the babe in the bikini top? :)~
"O" yea the tractors just seemed real funny but they were
not my topic of thought after the babe in the bikini top. :)
Thanx for the info -Thom_j.

Wow! Great pictures. Great Porsche day. I saw Donahue drive that Penske 917.
Or one very much like it. It had too much power. Everyone agreed. He set a
lap record at Laguna that day that stood until they changed the track.
