I don't think they suck for their decision at all. Quite the opposite really. It's refreshing to see drivers stand up for themselves where their lives are on the line & do what is right. I respect them for not allowing themselves to be used as puppets & refusing to unnecessarily put themselves as well as others at risk. Maybe if NASCAR drivers had stood up for themselves in a similar fashion in regards to restrictor plate racing years ago, Dale might still be with us. But I digress.... -- Fester
Hmmm...site is down AGAIN! Suck?! Hell no. I'm damn glad they didn't. I was really scared we'd have another Feb. 18th, so to speak, or maybe worse. Those cars are just too damned fast for TMS. Clearly, they should've known better long before yesterday. -- ------------------------------------- Morgan Vincent Wooten http://home.earthlink.net/~morganv00/ ------------------------------------- "Jan Kohl" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:QGfH6.36597$[email hidden]... > Then read this. Why would Dale still be with us? What happened to Dale that would have caused the drivers to boycott a race. Don't say restrictor plates, because they had nothing to do with DE's death.... A tightly bunch up group made contact with another car & ultimately impacting the wall MUCH more likely. There have been complaints about the restrictor plates for a long time now. Had the NASCAR drivers taken it upon themselves to shoot this whole plate thing down early on in the same fashion the CART drivers are exhibiting... who knows? You can't prove a negative, but it raises enough doubt. Anyways... two thumbs up for standing up for yourselves, drivers of CART. -- Fester
Well the problem was the new aero rules and how you punch such a big hole in the air its easy for a guy to get into the draft. Watching the last few laps again on HBO, with the horrendous Bryant Gumbal, I did notice Dale was spending a lot of time on Sterling front bumper working the draft to keep both lines at bay. HBO showed one shot in the tri oval where you saw Dale get rubbed pretty good when coming down in the turn to a point where you could see his hands saw on the steering wheel a bunch. The little peice of sheetmetal put no the roof was the isssue here since a driver is going to do what he needs to to keep another driver behind him. the other stuff I am hearing about is what has me worried, like the worker who said Dale's belts were so tight they had to loosen them to preform CPR. Kinda different from the NASCAR line of the belt broke. That sounds kinda fishy to me.
