1976, Hunt vs Lauda and an interesting bit about a very quick Japanese car. GPL2! ...after CART Racing 2 of course :) Chris Bloom wrote:

Front cover says it all: [1976] "Formula One's Greatest year" Stories include: "Hunt vs Lauda" "McLaren vs Ferrari" (nice to see history repeat itself -eh!) "America vs Japan" (nice story about the wonderful Penske PC4 and a few unknow (atleast to me) Japanese cars that "starred" in '76 race) "Tyrell vs convention" (the real reason why it had two too many) And as a "little" bonus.... featured track is none other than Bathurst. (Imho, *the* greatest track there is - 'Ring included!) Just imagine racing one of these nice cars at tracks like: Interlagos, Kyalami, Long Beach, Jarama, Zolder, Monte Carlo, Anderstorp, Paul Richard, Brands, Nurburgring, sterreichring, Zandvoort, Monza, Mosport, The Glen and Mount Fuji.... DAMMIT PAPY!! Give us GPL2 soon! I'd still prefer 1937 for GPL2. 1976 would be good I suppose, but is it not cheating using aerodynamic devices? ;-) Chris -- GPL FD League http://www.egroups.com/group/gplfd Simbok Racing www.geocities.com/simbokza Remove _your_clothes before replying "Rob Swindells" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > 1976, Hunt vs Lauda and an interesting bit about a very quick Japanese car. > > GPL2! > > ...after CART Racing 2 of course :) > > Chris Bloom wrote: > > > Well we will be lucky if we see the February issue here before May! Ed Solheim <[email hidden]> wrote: > Front cover says it all: > [1976] "Formula One's Greatest year" No, no, NO! We already have Interstate '76, why bother making another racing game on the same year? <G> > Just imagine racing one of these nice cars at tracks like: > Interlagos, Kyalami, Long Beach, Jarama, Zolder, Monte Carlo, Anderstorp, > Paul Richard, Brands, Nurburgring, sterreichring, Zandvoort, Monza, > Mosport, The Glen and Mount Fuji.... The fact is, the F1 sport suffered in the mid-seventies of having too many horribly lame tracks that everybody hated. Like Mount Fuji, for example. We also already have most of the tracks listed above in GPL. Face it, the most interesting year has already been picked and done. No historical F1 sim based on another year will compare to it. What we need is a historical _bike_ sim. Sixties or seventies or something, with Isle of Man and old Mazarykring and all that. +Cinquo
only cheating if you keep a little throttle on when braking into corners :( pez Chris Bloom <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:94tuqj$sb7$[email hidden]... > I'd still prefer 1937 for GPL2. 1976 would be good I suppose, but is itnot
