Strange trouble with GPL & win 2000

Hello Sim Racers I have a weird problem for 3 weeks now I used to play GPL from w98 & w2000 wihout any problems But 3 weeks ago, gpl under W2000 started to go at 4x the speed aproximatively. IE at kyalami you can't pass the 3rd gear or it would be too fast hehe Well that was quite fun at start but now i ahve to switch back to w98 to train and that really hurts as all my net stuff is run under w2000 (FTP serever for ex) Anyone got an idea? This is the same answer I posted a week ago to a similar problem. The topic was something like "help, my GPL is running in 2x speed" :) clipclip > Funny, I thought I was the only one that had this problem. You running a Delete all references to papy*.sys with regedit.exe, search and delete the files and reboot. N4-demo installs some not-good files over the gpl's files. I don't seem to see any difference if these files are in your computer or not... sot just delete them. This has worked for me. The problem occured after installing and running N4. Actually I was the one that posted "help, my gpl is running at 2x speed". I tried deleting the files that were papy*.sys and it did not work for me. I had to reinstall gpl. It wasnt too musch of a hastle. I saved my replay, player, and track directories and after I reinstalled, I just copied those files over the top. Just make sure you get all the patches you need. Hi, What directx version ? I had GPL running fine on Windows 2000 Service pack 1, with the game compatibility fixes. - Windows 2000 service pack 1 , plus (game) hotfixes from http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com . - Directx 8 (7 was just as good) - Nvidia 6.47 (higher versions mess up loading screens in gpl) - Soundblaster Live ( Standard win2000 wdm driver, creative drivers gave me stuttering sound :-(, no eax, but i don't care much about that) - GPL d3d7 patch, with appropiate settings in core.ini (below) On a Athlon 850 with Geforce2 MX.
