I just bought a new computer. A powerspec model that has an 800mhz Pentium III. I yanked my old 3D Blaster Banshee from my old computer (which worked fine), installed this in the new computer and have had problems ever since. first off, i was able to get it to work at first. Even played a bit of GPL and the frame rates were awesome! But after 10 mins or so, the computer froze upon rebooting. nothing would bring it back except safe mode. So i yanked the card and used the built in video (part of the problem? i remember taking out an old card in my last computer. Here there is no card to remove). after starting up again, checked out the computer to make sure everything else worked ok (it did). So i plugged the 3D card back in, installed the drivers and it worked again. that is until I needed to reboot. I am running windows ME. is that part of the problem? I cant find any driver updates for this version of windows. i have run out of any ideas to try. HELP! Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/

Your computer has a very nice processor. Now go out and buy it the video card it deserves =) Seriously, it is more than likely that your card's drivers are incompatible with Windows ME. Did you try the manufacturers website for updated drivers? ...Colin <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:92e3i7$8pg$[email hidden]...

the > help Snake888! > > Sent via Deja.com > http://www.deja.com/ >I just looked at the help files on this topic and found: Open System properties in Control Panel. Click the Device Manager tab, click the plus sign next to the hardware type, and then double-click the device. Under Device usage, select the Disable in this hardware profile check box to disable the device in the current hardware profile. Disabling the device will prevent its Windows driver from being loaded when you start Windows. Problem is, I cannot find anything that says video. I must be blind. So what should I disable? What other cards work with GPL? I only know that this one does (er did)? GPL is the only game I want to work right and at this moment, it doesnt!! thanks! Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/
You should be able to do it in your BIOS setup. -- [email hidden] <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:92e8l1$cm6$[email hidden]... > In article <92e84f$c93$[email hidden]>, > [email hidden] wrote: > > In article <nUw26.40314$[email hidden]>, > > "Snake88" <[email hidden]> wrote: > > > did you disable on board video? > > > > > > -- > > > > No, I didnt.
