Wonder if any of you good people can help me with this. I just got a copy of
I76 from a bargin bin ($6 woo!) but can't get it to install. I checked the
Activision site and didnt' find anything helpful.
I tried the basics of setting desktop low res and 256 colors but no joy.
When ever I run setup.exe, I get the following error:
_INS0432 caused a divide error in module GETINFO.DLL at 0167:00f810e6.

Ah ha. I sorted it out. It's a buggy POS but once you get it going it's kind
of fun. ;)

It IS fun :) Be sure to download the patch from www.activision.com.
It's a big patch though.

launch I76.exe? I've patched this thing with the latest 3d patch and it
still gives me this error about 75% when I launch the file. If I just keep
clicking OK, then clicking on I76.exe again it eventually works. Damn thing
is like trying to start my lawn mower! Takes an extra 3-5 minutes sometimes
to get going, but then it's a heck of a lot of fun. That and the copy
protection were giving me fits. I found a crack for the copy protection, so
now I get no funky music, which is a shame because I wasn't tried of the
music just yet. Anyhow--lots of fun. Just wish it were a bit more
cooperative.

No, I don't have that problem. I do have 2 other problems though.
First, I also have the I76 Nitro Pack (extra missions). This Nitro
Pack cd also contains the patch for I76. But when I have installed
I76, the Nitro Pack still greys out the 'update I76' option.
I mailed Activision about this at the time, but they didn't know a
solution. It wasn't a big problem, since the downloaded update worked
just fine, it was just weird that the update from the Nitro Pack cd
didn't work.
Second, I bought a V3 a couple of months ago, and now textures in I76
are all corrupted. With my V2 I didn't have these problems.
Why are you needing a cd crack? I still love the funky music from I76
:)
Oh, and if you haven't noticed allready, avoid I82 at all costs.
For me I82 was the disappointment of the century...

Humm, s' odd. I have a V3 2000 and the textures look fine.

I have more than one cd rom drive and it just completely hates that. I can
get it to work without the crack but it involves going through a bunch of
time consuming steps for each start up. :(

Thanks, I heard. But I will look around for the Nitro add-on.
