Is the Thrustmaster Ferrari FF wheel the same as the Guillemot wheel that
folks here seem to like? They certainly appear to be the same wheel,
though some sites list it as Thrustmaster, some as Guillemot.
Is it the same wheel?

No. The Ferrari 360 Modena FF wheel is basically the old Thrustmaster FF
with a new steering wheel and buttons. The Guillemot Ferrari FF wheel is
quite different (the main housing is much larger so I suspect it has very
different FF the new 360 modena which is much smaller).
Get some opinions from owners and preferably try it out before you buy.
I've got a Guillemot Ferrari and a friend has the old thrustmaster FF and
the FF is much better in the Guillemot. Thrustmaster does have a nice stiff
brake peddle but the travel is not as much as the Guillemot. The
Thrustmaster is getting quite sloppy whereas mine is as good as new and I
use mine a lot more.

Guillemot is also marketing the Ferrari Thrustmaster FF with no "360 Modena"
in the name, it's just hit the shelves in my area and it's even hard to find
on their web site (go to motorsports communities and search on Force
Feedback and it will be half way down).
Maybe they use the Modena name outside the North American markets?

I've recently bought a 360 Modena Pro here in England, and just to
complicate this thread a bit more, it's a non-FF version :-)

Is this about the same as the Nascar Pro 2 here in the US?

I believe so, mine came in the box label as Thrustmaster
FF racing wheel (there's no Ferrari in the name, but
it on the wheel itself there's a Ferrari logo, and on the
box it's marked as officially licensed product [by Ferrari]).
Guillemot is not marked in any noticable way. There's just
a small mention on the box that Thrustmaster is a division
of Guillemot corporation.
Both the wheel and pedals are very good, force feedback
seems to be ok, but I've never tried any other FF wheel so
I can't compare.
Alex.
See, I'm still sort of confused. The Thrustmaster Ferrari wheel that
arrived today looks identical, pedals and all, to the Guillemot wheel in
the review cited below. There is no "360 Modena" in the name. So is this
actually a Guillemot wheel rebadged with the Thrustmaster logo, or a
cosmetically altered old Thrustmaster? The direct link to the wheel on
thrustmasters site is:
http://us.thrustmaster.com/products/lookproduct.php3?prodid=72
The guillemot web site links directly to Thrustmaster, so this is why I
assumed that the Ferrari wheel here is the same as the Guillemot Ferrari
FF whell that gets such good reviews here and other places
I can't try the wheel out until Christmas. (hey, its a gift) It certainly
"looks" like the Guillemot in all respects. It was very hard to find, and
appeared to be backordered everywhere. I found it online at GameStop
(Babbages) for $129. I purchased it thinking it was the Guillemot wheel,
now marketed a Thrustmaster. I hope I didn't screw up.

It's the same wheel, as Thrustmaster is owned by Guillemot. They use exactly
the same drivers as well.
best wishes,
Milan

I still say it's different then the 360 Modena, but with Guillemot's
confused marketing who can tell for sure.
I hope this ends some confusion.
The Modena will only be sold in Europe. It is actually the European
counterpart to the Pro Digital II. The Ferrari is still being produced as
is, except on another brand name (Thrustmaster).
All wheels that were labeled as Guillemot will now be labeled as
Thrustmaster.

I got mine back in Feb when it first came out in the UK. I got it from
Electronics Boutique in Birmingham for 89.99. I have seen it advertised
somewhere for 79.99 but not back when I got mine. I must say that it's been
the best 89.99 I've ever spent in my life.
The best 15.99 I've ever spent was on GPL. So for the price of the two I've
had many many hours of absolute fun which is much better value (and safer)
than actually going motor racing. Although any donations towards a Formula
Ford would be much appreciated.
