I checked and soundcard is not sharing an IRQ. I think that tip was for
people with skipping sound. I have nothing at all.
Thanks for the reply.
Any ideas ?
NASCAR 4 demo has no sound on SB Live
Karl Brankin reported no sound at all in the NASCAR Racing 4 demo with an SB Live card. Participants compared IRQ assignments and also discussed a framerate slowdown when the F1 info screen was shown and a missing spotter voice with 3D sound enabled. No fix was found; one poster noted that shared IRQs are normal under PCI.

Is N4 sound working okay for you ?
I notice that your V3 and SB live are sharing an IRQ - Does that cause you
any problems ?
Hi,
Downloaded n4 demo. Very impressive. Runs pretty well at 800 x 600 on P500 &
V3 3000.
I have no sound at all - no engine sound, no skids, no spotter etc. Using SB
live value. Latest drivers.
I have seen posts with people suffering glitchy sound but I can`t get any.
I have tried re-installing - same problem.
Looks like this game will be fantastic.
Please help - I`m sure it is the lack of sound that is holding my lap times
back !!
Thanks
Karl.
One fellow had sucess in moving his sound card to a different irq. Make
sure when your system first boots up that NO other device is sharing an irq
with the soundcard....
There are two ways to go about this...physically remove the sound card and
place it in another slot.(after removing it inside windows first in the
control panel-system-device manager0
or go into the device manager and clik on your sound card, and try to
change the the irq setting in the resources section.

Sorry - brain fade... Hmm. Some people have a slowdown with the F1 window,
some have no sound. But, they're not necessarily linked... Ok, I'm out of

I have the same soundcard. I don't hear the spotter unless the 3d sound
checkbox is unchecked. Have you tried it that way? Strange how things
can vary so much, even on similar equipment. Guess that's why it's an

operation. This was NOT true of ISA slots.
That said, most techies agree that your AGP card should have it's own IRQ,
which you can force by not putting a card that requires an IRQ in the PCI
slot next to the AGP card - they usually share the same IRQ.
