After Installing and running Nascar 4 demo on a Windows 2000 system with Sb Live (+Liveware 3.0 for w2k) Geforce 2 (with 6.31 detonator drivers) Directx 7.0a (the one which comes with OS) I get the following symptons: GPL often runs twice the normal speed after running N4 - I can tell that running GPL with double speed is WICKED experience... the fps-counter stays at 36fps and the sound is normal, but a lap at silverstone takes about 40s (stopwatch checked). I really can tell that the cause for the problem is anything other than N4, because the problem occured after only installing the demo. I haven't tried uninstalling the N4 demo yet, as I'm hoping that someone will come up with a solution for this. I have re-installed all my drivers, but no dice. Sad is the fact that if my system won't work on Sunday for FGPLC league race, I will have to forget about N4 demo for now. Untill then, I'm willing to test anything to get both games to run :) Help?! Can Eric / Papy comment on this? -- Mika Takala [email hidden] ICQ UIN 14314015

I never really found out what it was, but re-installing GPL did the trick. Even reinstalling into *another* directory, then just removing that did the trick. Probably a driver *somewhere*. > - I can tell that >running GPL with double speed is WICKED experience... the fps-counter stays >at 36fps and the sound is normal, but a lap at silverstone takes about 40s >(stopwatch checked). I know, ouch, when I though the problem was gone I went into VROC and ouch it was back, screwing up everybody else's times; it was really nasty. This means that I either have to uninstall N4 demo, or boot to w98 every time I like to play GPL.... and neither option is nice :( Maybe Papy messed some common files in here....not sure -- Mika Takala [email hidden] ICQ UIN 14314015
