About a month ago, I purchased all new Logitech Controllers, including the Logitech Force FF Joystick and Force GP Wheel. The main reason for doing this was Microsoft's inability to support it's customers with drivers for Windows 2000 and their Controllers. I have a MSFFW and a SideWinder sitting on the shelf now. Yes, I know about the Win2K built-in drivers, but those are not feature complete. They are bare-bones only drivers that do not support the advanced features of the devices, and I must have this. Now, the Logitech stuff, especially the software, have been working fine with the exception of one problem. The Force GP Wheel has developed a horrible squeaking noise. It's very loud, and beyond annoying. It _sounds_ like something internal is plastic-on-plastic and was not lubricated properly at the factory. Luckily, I paid $10 for a 2 year replacement warranty at Best Buy. I will take it in and they hand me a new wheel (so it's supposed to go, at least). What I find troubling is the number of people I've found that have the _exact_ same problem. Lots of people having the same software problem is commonplace. However, lots of people having the same HARDWARE problem is troubling. Is it possible there is a design defect in this wheel, and no number of replacements will ever get rid of it? I was going to take it apart and lubricate whatever needed it, but they have covers over at least one screw and I can't chance voiding the warranty due to the replacement policy I bought. How many here have this problem? -Larry
Come on man! I think it's common knowledge that the new Logitech stuff is garbage. I've been buying and hording the old Logitech wheels so when the time comes I won't have to gamble on something I might not like. -- ------------------------------------- Morgan Vincent Wooten GPLRank: +15.49 http://home.earthlink.net/~morganv00/ ------------------------------------- "Larry" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:bXJT5.15931$[email hidden]... > About a month ago, I purchased all new Logitech Controllers, including the > Logitech Force FF Joystick and Force GP Wheel. > > The main reason for doing this was Microsoft's inability to support it's > customers with drivers for Windows 2000 and their Controllers. I bought both the wheel and FF stick and sent both back to whence they came.

Hello, Actually, a Force RS is only $139.99 USDfrom our web site. The Force RS and RS Shifter is $189.99 USD. You can buy the Force RS by itself. Raymond ACT LABS www.act-labs.com On 26 Nov 2000 15:18:11 GMT, [email hidden] (EldredP) wrote:
