Andre, Choose the Direct3D api... for some reason it runs way quicker than Glide, even on my antiquated 2xV2 SLI setup. Enjoying the demo too... could be one of those surprise hits IMO. Jan. =--- Andre Warringa wrote...

I really like the demo from this one, gameplay is great, and especially in multiplayer this game could be a killer. But the demo runs really jerky on my pc: I got a PIII500 with a V3 3000 card, and 384meg memory. Not the fastest system in the world, but when I set the game to 640 x 480 resolution, with all details set to the lowest, mirrors off, the game still runs too jerky to be playable, especially with other cars in the vicinity. Don't think it's a problem with my system, constant 36fps in GPL, and every other game I tried runs great. Andre

You're right Jan, D3D runs much better than Glide... how weird. Maybe it'll be fixed in the final release... nah, probably not. Thanks for the hint! Andre

I thought it was far better than 4X4 Evolution, since the vehicles feel more realistic and are subject to realistic damage. If they would provide some nice realistic offroad tracks , I would buy a copy. Theres lots of potential there , but the scenery and vehicle textures could use a bit more polish.

Thanks for tip. Try running Turkey at night in the Baja bug, I never had to repair my vehicle so much. LOL, those darn headlights get smashed alot. Maybe night-time is perfect for moving your head (using the mouse) to avoid the hills and cliffs. Jason. Jan Verschueren wrote:

Personally I think Insane if far better than 4x4 Evo indeed. in 4x4 Evo, you can hit the gas and drive over every hill you encounter, no matter how steep it is. In Insane you have to be very carefull when you drive over a hill, to fast and you'll crash immediately. The driving model of Insane has much more feel than 4x4's model. Andre
