Man, stop typing and get racing :-) Some of my best drives (at the PC, that is) have involved some alcohol! I guess im new to the land of racing sims in comparison to alot of you, but for 3 yrs ive been racing sims on my PC. I started with F1RS by ubisoft. This sim i saw on a mates PC, and i just about blew my bolt as soon as i saw it. This hooked me incredibly well:) The same friend rang me up at work about 12 months later and said "Greg you gotta hear this"......he then proceeded to put his phone against his PC speakers and press his foot firmly and violently into his gas pedal:) He had just installed the GPL demo, and was sitting in pitlane at monza in the ferrari with original sound !!!!!!. All i rememeber thinking was how can i get this GPL thing, and how can i get out of work 4 hours early:). Well that was my introduction to the all encompassing GPL world, and it has been an incredible ride for the last 2 years. Ive been drinking bourbon for the last 2 hours, and im really unsure why im posting this thread to you all, but i feel the need to voice my enthusiam for the worlds greatest sim:) cheers Greg Stewart GPL rank 2nd

Surprised no one found it... Don't want to spoil Greg whatsoever but... GPL demo (either the first one at Watkins Glen or the one at Monza) had no Ferrari in it.... The 3 cars were Lotus, Eagle and Coventry (Cooper), when we bought GPL from the box, it was a big surprise to us to have the Ferrari in it too. (was not initialy planned since contractual conflicts I believe) In any case, congrats for the 2nd rank Greg :) Eric http://www.simracingmag.com gjs wrote:

Actually I think there might have been a version of the demo out AFTER initial release that was on the NR99 cd that included the Ferrari. I could be wrong because its been ages since I saw that demo and I never played it (except to show my buddy how good it was on his PC). I dont remember a Ferrari but the replay file with the demo was a lap at the Glen in a Ferrari... But it could simply be a coincidence as like I said I never played the demo much after I got the full version :) But GPL pretty much is the only sim I've played since that fateful October day back in 1998 when I first installed it. And, like many of us, I too have stories of girlfriends neglected and hours of sleep lost just to break that magic 1:30 mark at Monza :) Chris GPL Rank too pathetic to mention...oh ok its +46.70

And speaking of girlfriends mine just left (no, I didn't spend too many hours in front of GPL... it just got old) - and man i'd forgotten how good this game is. Heartbreak? pffft. I got GPL, baby ;-) Powersliding around the Lesmos is almost as good a sensation as she used to give me... (or is that just because Lesmos sounds vaguley rude?) DG
