Because of certain sports games not running well on my current system (Celeron 566 o/ced to 850, on an ABIT BH6 mobo, with 2 Voodoo2's in SLI Mode, SBLive Value soundcard)), I'm considering finally biting the bullet and upgrading my video card. But, I've got some questions. First, I also have an ATI All-in-Wonder video card in my system, and I enjoy being able to tune in to TV while surfing the net, doing finances, etc , and would like to still have this capability. (That's why I opted for the Voodoo2's instead of getting a whole new card a year or so ago.) I'm undecided between getting a Voodoo 3 3500TV card or getting a Voodoo5 plus the separate VoodooTV card (I read about that one at www.3dfx.com). Of course the Voodoo5 plus the VoodooTV card would cost a bunch more than the Voodoo3 3500TV, and my question is whether it's worth the extra cost. -- especially regarding performance in racing sims. I also would like to hear of anyone's experiences (good and bad) with either of these videocards in getting them properly installed on an ABIT BH6 mobo with an SBLive. Any particular problems or incompatibilities? My main concerns are running my racing sims - GPL, F12K, GP3, RC2000, SBK2000 etc and sports games, such as HH2K1, FIFA 2001, NHL2001, Links 2001, etc. Any thoughts on this decision would be appreciated.

May I recommend the all new All In Wonder Radeon? I'm soaking in it right now. It's very, very good. And you get a bonus: a TV Program Guide and a hard disk recorder built in. In article <[email hidden]>, [email hidden] says...

The video card that i would be looking at would be a gts2 64/32 ddr with tv. the specs look good but I'm still waiting to see what the "hick-ups" is with it personjally, to get better gaming that SLI then it might require more money than i personally would put towards it, but then, it's not my wallet that is paying for this card
Fantastic! (And I thought I was the only Radeon supporter)..... "Dan Clarke/GamePen" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Hmm..... Something to think about. Is that hard disk recorder feature sort of like Tivo or ReplayTV? If so, I see a new HUGE hard drive on the horizon too! One question though: How does this card perform with GPL? I assume that I'd have to run it in D3D mode? I'm running everything in Glide now. I assume the sports games I've mentioned run OK in D3D? GPL's my main concern though, as I'm in an online league. Thanks for your input. Dan Clarke/GamePen wrote:

Yes. Exactly like Replay, but you have to watch it on your PC :). You do need ample space. My 75GB works well :). Unfortunately, I haven't played GPL in a looong time and can't help you there. Everything that's recent works well Unreal Tournament, FIFA 2001, No One Lives Forever (I am having some text issues, but the game is fine), NHL 2001, Madden 2001, etc. In article <[email hidden]>, [email hidden] says...

I've thought about getting a geforce2 32 megs, but the only tv ability comes with 64 megs...from what I've read, even if you have the money to burn, 64 megs vs. 32 megs with the geforce32 shows little to know difference...not worth the money... I've also heard great things about the Radeon chipset from ATI...yep, ATI. Video boards that are average AT BEST, all of a sudden is a contender from what I've read...I'm tempted to not get a geforce 2 in favor of a ATI All in Wonder 32 meg with the Radeon chipset...anyone got a comment about this board? <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

I have a oc'ed celeron with a BH6 and a Voodoo3 3000agp. I have no problems. I prefer the Voodoo over the nvidia stuff because of the DD and Glide choice. Atleast you have the option. I have a Voodoo 5, but cannot comment on the TV portion as I do not have that capability, but I can tell you the V5 is fantastic for sports and racing games. Smooth as silk frame rates, and the best looking visuals in the business with FSAA. I run NHL 2001 at 1024x768, with 2xFSAA and it is remarkable. Tried FIFA 2001 demo, ditto. Links 2001 has a glitch in the driver for the video when you start the game (driver issue being worked on I hear), just take the CD out (with a full install) and it works great. Also play Nascar 3 without a hitch. I have a ABIT BX6 2.0 MOBO, PIII o/c to 868, 128 ram. If you want the best eye candy with great framerates, the V5 is a winner! Thanks Brian, What OS are you running it with? I'm still using Win95 and I'm not sure of the V5 will work with it. Bert Brian Summers wrote:
