Hi, Couldn't take GPL anymore...can't get myself to love GP3 for some reason...even with the 113 patch... So last 2 weeks it's nascar heat... Really *luuuuuve* it...except the forced things around pitting and yellow/greens. The auto speedlimiter when in the pits... The suicide behaviour of the pacecar... The slam into things(preferably me) behaviour of the AI under caution The forced max speed when the green is just about to fall... I never 'followed' nascar(i will from now on...if europsort still airs it)...so i have no idea..but i thought it was allowed to let a gap fall...wait till it's just about to go green...and then floor it..so if you time it right you get passed a few cars.. The thing when under yellow where you dive into the pits...then you get out...but the car automatically stops on the pitout line where it waits til the pack and some cars still catching up with the pack have past.. (i assume this is to prevent you from going in between a gap between the pack and cars that pitted earlier?)...anyways...it's another one of those 'automatic' things i hate(i hate automatic things in any sim..ruins the experience for me) A minor thing especially on speedways like daytona...the AI always seems to accelerate somewhat faster then i'm capable of..i always loose places at the start or after a caution... Other then the above...most excellent sim... oh..by the way..i do have the manual driving under caution/pits turned on..so it ain't on 'auto' cheers, Willem

Just wanted to know what to change in the options.cfg to stop the forced speed on a restart, I know how to get rid of the forced pit speed. Thanks, Rick Miller

Ok...found that one >-<+>-The suicide behaviour of the pacecar... > >Never seen this when I play The pace car went full throttle into my backside..because i was slightly out of the pack line... That would be logical if i suddenly went off my line but i was steady on that line...and the pacecar didn't even attempt to avoid me.. But it's a detail..not a showstopper so.. I didn't get damaged from the pacecar impact itself...but it slammed me into the wall...and that did damage me:)

This is changed by the same option as the other thing? "force_legal_pitspeed" ? >-<+>-A minor thing especially on speedways like daytona...the AI always >-<+>-seems to accelerate somewhat faster then i'm capable of..i always >-<+>-loose places at the start or after a caution... >Change your gears in the garage.... I tried multiple setups/gear settings...didn't help... The entire pack just accelerates faster(on the fast tracks)...no matter what gear settings i use. Could you write up a gear setting for daytona which'll give me the same acceleration? And rick asked this to in a reply.. But is there an option in the cfg file which gets rid of the forcedmax speed right before the green flag falls? cheers, willem
Ah, I must not have understood. The forced speed at restart is fixed. This is the time the sim is loading all the track information. Hasbro has already said there is nothing they can do about this.
