Notable threadGrand Prix 3 v1.13 patch released

The Grand Prix 3 patch was released, adding better controller configuration including split-axis pedals. Some users reported installation errors and difficulties combining USB and gameport devices, with tips about clicking the calibration tab and using control-driven calibration. A rude reply to a user's report led to insults, and it was noted that the patch had been cracked within a day.

I reinstalled the game and downloaded and installed the patch. I immediately noticed that the controller configuration had improved. It recognised my Act Labs Force RS, including the split axis pedals and my Gravis Analog Pro + CH Pedals. Things were looking up! I set up the controllers as I wanted, using the split axis CH Pedals on controller 2 for the accelerator and brake pedals. These were recognised correctly by the controller driven callibration. So far so good! I had the controls set up exactly like GPL :) I then went to a quick race at Silverstone. There I was sitting on the grid with no power whatsoever! The throttle was dead. I thought maybe I had done something wrong and went back to the controller configuration. I recallibrated the controls, all of which were working in the callibration window and tried again. Still no throttle. As a last resort I tried the Force RS pedals set to split axis mode. Finally some power but not using the pedals I would like. My question is this, have Hasbro/Microprose/Crammond actually tested this patch with some real world hardware configurations? It has controller configuration features which are comparable with GPL. It correctly recognised all the axes from my two controllers and supported all the fire buttons but sadly in my experience you can't use axes from controller 2 for the accelerator and brake. They just don't work. If anyone has got a similar configuration to work, please let me know how. Oh well, back to getting a negative GPL Rank. I had the same problem. When you select controller B for your accelerator and brake, you also need to click the little orange TAB next to the calibration bar. The green calibration bar will move but will mean nothing in the game if you do not click the tab. Hope this helps. It only took me about 45 mins to work out why I also had no power in the game LOL. Why don't you buy some more different controllers, try some more different split axis configurations (whatever the hell that is) and whine more about things not working for you ... Good reply. If GP2.65 doesn't work for you, than it's the users fault! The software developer bears no responsibility. And lets rip the guys opinions and offer him no help.

Are you running GP3 with the no CD patch ? Take your brain back mate, it's not working. You could upgrade to a hamster brain, but you my need to increase the blood supply to your new rodent based cpu. Also clear any dead leaves that may have accumulated in the empty void of your scull, that will help with cooling. Hope that helps Good luck You'll need it You tw*t!

GP3 recognises the CH Pedals when they are connected as controller 1 and the Force RS on controller 2. Unfortunately it then doesn't support forcefeedback. It looks like my only option is to use the Force RS pedals. Since I had a problem with it I thought I would post it here in the hope that: 1. It would provide some useful information 2. Someone may know a solution to the problem. I thought this was the whole reason for a public newsgroup. Obviously you seem know better. I won't stoop to your level by throwing out insults, although I do agree with a number of the replies to your post. Damn! I was hoping they had fixed this - I just discovered it a few days ago. Even though Win2K identifies the LWFF as Controller 1 and the Joystick/CH Pedals combo as Controller 2, GP3 seems locked into seeing whatever you have attached to your gameport as Controller A, and USB devices as Controller B. If Controller A doesn't support FFB, you don't get the option to enable it. This is frustrating - don't they at least try these things out? Rick

Similar problem here at first as I have a bit of an odd configuration too. I found that I had to choose "control driven calibration" and then calibrate all axes to get each axis to work in the correct direction.
