I saw SCGT on sale for $10 the other day. So... knowing that there
are carsets available for the current crop of Trans-Am cars I bought
it. Unfortunately, the instructions that came with the cars are
pretty minimal. Unzipping the files into the patch directory doesn't
seem to be enough.
Can anyone give me a few pointers?
You've done most of the work. Here is the fully covered method.
1ST! You have to dload 3 files for each car into the patch folder and
possibly
some .wav files into the sound folder.
Most, not all but most, of the new cars have sound files included. Those
are the file or files that end with the .wav extension. These are unzipped
into the scgt\sounds\22hz16bit folder. The other three files end with .veh,
.bmp, and .mas. These are files that go into the patch folder.
You still can't drive those cars, although they will now start showing up
in the
mixed class races. To buy and drive them, you have use the built in cheat
mode to unlock them.
The pits and other scgt sites have a listing of the codes..but here goes
type the following when in CAREER mode. You don't have to stay in the
career mode, just click that button while typing in the cheats below and
purchasing cars. Then you can choose single races or mulitplayer to use
your
newly bought toy. Type the following
isi-cheeseman enables the cheat mode, you will see a message box at the
upper left of the screen that verifies this.
isi-tbone unlocks all the cars and tracks
isi-aardvark grants a large amount of money to buy cars and parts.
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask away... Rember the
Advanced Options Editor should always be used with SCGT to create a more
simlike drive and get rid of the Very Sticky Grass. AoE should be run
whenever you make a change to scgt, i.e. adding cars or tracks.

Most of the work? It looks like I've barely started! Thanks for
the help, I'd have never worked all that out on my own.
