I started to download a mysterious "Avus_version_3" file a few
days ago with Gozilla but, now, i have finished but i don't remember
what exactly is this file.
With the nature of the files in the zip (*.mip and track.ini), i think it's
a track.
So, i created a "avus" directory in my /tracks and started the game
but i didn't saw anything.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Avus is indeed a track, and is shaping up well, though it's still in beta
form. You can download the latest version of it from here:
http://www.fortunecity.com/athena/empowerment/134/Track_Projects/AVUS/avus.

One thing to note is that the graphics aren't quite right yet. The track
itself is fine, but the sky gets corrupted about halfway along the first
straight, which tends to turn everything to the colour of gravy[1]. It's
also got no AI to speak of, so is only useful for testing and VROC at the
moment.
[1] Brown, not white. That's gravy in the British sense, ie roast meat
juices, not the stuff some Americans call gravy (which we call white
sauce).

Ok, i know it's a track, but, in my zip, i only have some *.mip
files and a record.* and track.* file.
But no *.dat file.
And without that, the track doen't work.
Any ideas ??

Yes. As I said before, deownload the current version from here:
http://www.fortunecity.com/athena/empowerment/134/Track_Projects/AVUS/avus.
html
which *does* have a track.dat in it. I know, cos that's where I got mine...

It isn't - I just went there (and yes I did clear out the cache first), and
all is well. Maybe it's a GPLRank-type "DNS sometimes missing" error. Try
again, making sure you put this URL all on one line, including the "html"
that doesn't fit:
http://www.fortunecity.com/athena/empowerment/134/Track_Projects/AVUS/avus.
