Are you running GPL 1.2.0.1? I get flickering on the menu screen with detonator 6.34, but the game is fine. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

hi, can someone help me? recently got a new system, installed gpl, and found that it will only work in software mode. (maybe this would be good enough if it went beyond 640x480.) all drivers are up to date: directx7a detonator3 papy's opengl for gpl papy's d3d for gpl specifics: in opengl mode, it locks up at the cockpit screen in d3d mode, it gives flickering garbage at the vcr screen comparisons: scgt works, but with significant random screen flickering in, all modes viper works like a charm system: iwill wo2, with i815e chipset p3@933 128mg pc133 mem gforce 2 mx thanks in advance!! Chances are the i815e is the cause of your problems. I've experienced different, but equally annoying problems with mine (which runs the actual driving parts OK in Open GL mode, but causes the menus to flicker and overlap in appalling fashion). I had no luck with the d3d driver, as it turned my mirrors into brightly colored bands of pixels. You might see if there's a more recent Open GL driver for the video, but there wasn't the last time I checked. Theron Houston [email hidden] wrote in message <8sdmb9$d35$[email hidden]>...
