The demo is what I have trouble with. Everything works up to the point I go
to the grid and then I'm kicked back to the desktop. I tried the 16bit
solution today with no luck. SBK 2000 did the same thing on the same system.
PII400, 128MB, V3 2000 w/latest beta drivers, SB Live, Dx7a, Win 98.

When I run "button" to Superbike 2001, the screen goes black and nothing
happens. I have to do the old Ctl-Alt-del to get out. I'm using a new
installation of Windowd ME wit the latest Voodoo5 drivers.
Anybody in the same mess?

I had some problems running the demo if I had set me screen to 32 bit
colors....

People were having
problems running the demo unless they were in 1024x768x16bit. I'm having
trouble with the full game, however (not a demo). I tried that resolution
anyway but it didn't work. I also uninstalled the game and then deleted all
the superbike references in the registry but that didn't make a difference.
Maybe someone out there can help me - What happens as soon as you hit the
play button or, if the CD has already been sitting in the drive, when you
hit the shortcut? Does a video play? I'm trying to figure out what drivers
may be messed up on my system.

The black screen freeze as soon as I hit the
"run" button is resolved. I had apparently failed to properly load the the
Aureal 2048 updated drivers for my MX300 soundcard.
The next problem I had was getting a ddhelp and kernel32 error when I was
about to be placed on the track. After about an hour on that problem, I
determined that the cause was my Metabyte Wicked 3D glide wrapper that was
causing the problem (I guess no stereo 3D until I can figure that one out).
I'll just use the latest 3dfx drivers for now.
Now after racing for about 4 or 5 minutes, I get rudely transported back to
the desktop. This is a typical symptom of overheating in my system so I'll
try it again later with a fan blowing on an open case.
Keep me posted if you find something. This is a new release and there may
be others soon with the same problem.

I get the intro screen, movie, load screen then CTD. I had a similar problem
with the original Superbike. It was my nVidia driver. That doesn't fix it
now.
Max
Fixed the CTD by backing down my sound drivers to a previous version. What
seemed strange was the audio worked fine until the CTD. The drivers that were
running weren't certified w/DirectX, but I had no problems running anything
else.
Looking forward to racing this one.

I was having the same problem with the demo. I downloaded the beta
detonator drivers for my nvidia card (version 6.26) and it seemed to
help. I have had no problems with the release version.
I have spent the entire night trying to find where I can do some online
racing with Superbike 2000 or 2001, or GP500. If anyone knows where I
should look it would be greatly appreciated.
