Man, I'd use Spa-Francorchamps for Sports Car GT. I dunno, I guess the
cars used in SCGT are more closely modeled to what you would find racing
today *ducks, waiting for all the GPL realism posts*. Spa is a kick-ass
track, and in my opinion, one of the raciest tracks in the world (even
for F1!)...
Good luck on your project,
Sundown
I am currently working on my Master's degree in mechanical engineering and
taking a class in vehicle dynamics. Our project is to design a race track
and calculate the speeds and forces involved, in various cars, to complete a
lap. This information will to used to evaluate to track for safety and
raceability (not sure that is a word, but basically I mean starts, passing
zones, etc.). The track will then be adjusted until we are happy. Given
this goal, I would like to build the track so that I can actually drive
around it in a simulator to get the feel and rhythm of the design. So, what
do I need to do this? I currently have GPL and Nascar Heat. Ideally I
would like to use GPL since I believe it to be the most accurate physically
and, therefore, could provide some comparison to the calculated information.
However, if this is impossible, I will consider other options. Thanks for
any and all help.
