I think you will be disco'ed from the game after 15 minutes, too.
That is if you start the game through their servers, using the IPX
tunneling.

clik on the Nascar heat button at the bottom of the kali screen.
Since Kali hasn't been officially updated to handle NH yet, you have
to create a custom game by going down to the last folders on the left.
right cliking on the 'my games' folder (or something close to that)
choosing custum game, and then browsing to find the nheat.exe. Once you
have that you should see a question mark below right clik on that and you'll
see a button to change the icon. Find the nheat.exe again and kali will
take that icon for use
on the button bar below.

IMO you get the same functionality that VROC offers for GPL and you can use the
Kali software to launch NH through their servers which makes it easy for everyone
else to join. You also have chat, and the ability to share files. Although it
does cost $20 for the software, you could probably get away with finding a race
within the 15 minute time limit and save the money if that's an issue.
The server number is 311 and some great racers hang out there. Last night I had
a blast running Loudon and Atlanta. C'mon over and hook up with us - the more
the better!
