My husband has just loaded F1 2000 onto a 400 mhz, Intel processer, 256 Ram, 8 meg video card 4 gig free hard drive system. Whenever the cursor gets near the buttons at the bottom of the screen the game exits. Has anyone run into this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Julie Cook
OUCH! That's a new one -- have you checked the High Gear forums for advice? You can do a search in their F1 2000 forum, which makes it easy to locate older messages. They're at: http://www.simracingnews.com/ Or you can go directly to the forums: http://forums.simracingnews.com/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi Hope you find something that helps there! -- JB In article <[email hidden]>, Julie Cook <[email hidden]> wrote: > My husband has just loaded F1 2000 onto a 400 mhz, Intel processer,256 > Ram, 8 meg video card 4 gig free hard drive system. What video card is that? Latest video drivers? Installled directx7a? F1 2000 is not going to run too great on a 400mhz machine, it's a real resource hog. might be happier with Grand Prix 3. -- Nos

Almost sounds like a memory leak problem... Could be related to the antiquated 8 meg video card your running? Are you running ANY other programs at the same time as F1 2000 ??? Even the MS Office toolbar can be a resource hog! Disable everything but F1 2000, and try again... Worst case, upgrade that video card! an 8 meg card on a system with 256 of RAM is choking it! You can get a 32meg Nvida based card for around $100 these days, and it will make ALL the difference in the world when it comes to games...
