If there is no irq conflict (sharing) it may be like problem i had. With an isp i used to use, i would periodically get very poor connections. When i joined a race, i wouldnt see my mouse pointer at all. Changing isp's solved it for me. Good luck. One upside to my having to repair the PC was the acquiring of a decent modem. Aha, I thought, off to VROC at last! Well, no... The connection is made OK, the welcome message comes up, and I can get as far as the screen showing the programme cover and the amount of time left in the session (which counts down as it should do). But I can't get any further, because the mouse pointer is permanently stuck in the corner of the screen - so I can't get to the green flag to click on it. (And I don't think there's any form of keyboard override - I did try using MouseKeys, but no luck.) This problem *only* happens with VROC - offline, everything is fine. What's going on, please, and how can I fix it? -- David. (GPLRank handicap: -5.17) "After all, a mere thousand yards - such a harmless little knoll, really." Either try the bug fix .ini, David, or get used to it happening occasionally. It does that sometimes, no one quite knows why... -- Colin Harris Bomber Racing: Http://fullspeed.to/Bomber ICQ 25485061 David Buttery <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > One upside to my having to repair the PC was the acquiring of a decent > modem. I think! <g> I've tried the bug fix - no luck. And I wouldn't mind if it was only occasionally - but I've tried about 20 times this evening, and it's happened *every* time. I'll investigate Dave Henrie's suggestion (below) regarding an IRQ conflict (though Windows doesn't report anything wrong in device manager...). -- David. Mouse and modem aren't sharing the same IRQ are they? Do a "Start"->"Run" and enter msinfo32 as the program to run. It'll tell you everything except what you had for lunch last Tuesday. Regards, Brett C. Cammack That's Racing! Motorsports Pompano Beach, FL
